| Hi howdy folks,
I'm from Sikkim. I started this new hobby a couple of months back. Initially, my fishes used to die quite frequently, then I researched quite a bit. Now I have 9 tetras, 1 albino cichlid, 2 angels, 1 betta, 2 swordtails and 5 danios I believe. And the tank size is 10 gallons. Is the tank size small for these guys? |

| I think you're a bit overstocked. Keep an eye on your water perimeters/chemistry. Do you have a test kit to test for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH? Do regular water changes and change the floss in your filter regularly as well. If you have the means I would suggest a bigger tank for your fishes. You have a very NICE set up though. Good luck! |

Your tank is very pretty! 10g's isn't big enough for the amount and types of fish you have. I don't know that much about Angels, but I'm pretty sure two Angels need about 30g's. Just a guess, but for all your fish, I'm thinking they should be in a 55g.
The Betta really isn't compatible with the other fish and would do well to have the 10g to himself. If anything, it might be a really good idea to move him.
Most Bettas don't make good community fish. It might work for a little while but one day someone may get hurt or killed.
Good luck, enjoy the forum |

| On your profile it say that you do not know about cycling and your tank is 1 month old. Probably your tank is not cycled yet plus you are very overstocked for a 10G tank. Your ammonia levels might be going through the roof. I would suggest you to find a new home for some of your fish and definetely get a liquid test kit and start to do 25% water changes every day.

| Welcome to Fishlore,
You've gotten some great advice so far. Your Angelfish won't be happy in that tank for long. The 5 danios by themselves would properly stock that tank. It's fun to have different fish but the tank you have is just to small and the fish you have in there are not compatiable. Sorry for the bad news. I would def give your betta a 5gallon or bigger tank all to himself asap. Then I would upgrade to a larger tank or start rehoming your fish or taking them back. The Angelfish and cichlid would be the next priority. They get much to large and their temperments are to different..Do you know what kind of cichlid you have?? |

| Hi!
Yeah, your tank is way overstocked. You need to get a much bigger tank, use the 10 gal as a quarantine tank or take some fish back.
Angels when full grown will get up to 6 inches a piece. They need a larger tank regardless. The Danios would be better in a 20 gal (or bigger) because they are active. More runway, lol!! The guideline is 1 inch of fish per gal of water, that is not when they are babies but on how big they will get full grown!
Good luck! |

| i'm with everyone else, the tank is definitely overstocked. for the fish that you have i would leave the betta in the 10 gallon by himself (maybe some snails or shrimp if you betta can play nice with others ) and then look into a 55 for the other fish.
do you know what kind of cichlid you have?
also, do you have a male and female swordtail, two males, or two females? a male and a female are going to breed pretty much without question, and the female is probably going to be harassed quite a bit by the male. two males will probably fight, and two females should be okay. so IMO unless you have two females or can make room for another female of you have one male and one female, you should return one of the swords even if you do get a bigger tank. |

| Welcome! I always thought it was cool to have those blue night lights on when it was dark, sort of gives a whole new perspective on what fish look like at night. Partner do yourself a favor and continue your research in the areas that have been pointed out. Since you obviously enjoy the hobby like we all do it will help you to know these things and have good success as a fish keeper, the same things we all had pointed out to us when we were learning and still are learning.

| Thanks guys, for all the advice. I really appreciate. I should have put the Betta in another Tank...he was dead this morning and those tetras were eating pieces of him. He was my favorite. R.I.P |
