Hello from happy new fish owner

Stumbled onto this site in my searches for information (the info on the nitrogen cycle was VERY helpful!).

Have never had fish before and the kids convinced me to give it a try. We purchased a 29 gal tank a few weeks ago, got things running and added 4 glowlight tetras a week ago. Considering adding 2 or 3 gouramis after the tank gets settled and through it's first cycle.

Glad you guys are here to help with my questions!

Re: Hello from happy new fish owner

Welcome to FishLore! It's great to have you with us! Since you like gouramis, please consider only getting 1. They can be quite aggressive and you will end up with a bully in the tank. The opaline gouramis are beautiful. You might get away with more than one gourami if you go for the pearl gouramis. They are more mellow in temperament. In my experience, the golden gouramis were the most aggressive. Also, if you add a gourami to the tank, you will eliminate adding other fish like angels and bettas. They don't get along. You're gonna love it here!
