Hello!

I'm new to the forums so I thought I'd say hey. Also, exciting news, I'm getting a larger octagonal aquarium(has to be 30 at the least, but might be 40+!) from my school! It's been a huge hastle to get, but after about a week I got the okay on it, now I just need to get it off of the school's inventory and into my room! The only downside is it's leaky. I haven't checked it out or messed with it so I'm not sure where the leak is, I think it's probably a sealant problem and not a crack. Any advice on this? I also need some ideas for fish to go in it! i was thinking little Rasboras if I can find them! I want smaller fish. And does anyone know where I can pick up unique flora (no one has moss )?

Hi Demosthenes Welcome to Fish Lore.
You can find info about resealing the tank in the DIY section of the forum.
Other members can advise you how to go about that.

Rasboras are very pretty. Please consider cycling with out fish.
Good luck with your new to you tank

Hi and welcome

i cant help you with where to get your flora as I am too far away but i can say a school of rasboras would be a great start to your tank.

Once you get the tank home take it to the yard and fill to find the leak, assuming you can see its not a crack. and the Silicone will fix that for you but make sure you get silicon that is suitable for fish tanks not one with additives that will kill the fish. Leave the tank for 24hours, some would say 48 and then refill the tank to make sure the leak is fixed.

After that have a chat with the folks here there will be all sorts of ideas and opinions given to you for a stocking plan and for help with cycling your tank.

have a read of these http://www.fishlore.com/BeginnersGuides.htm as you wait for your tank to come
