| just joined up Hi, Names Aaron and i just recently got a 30 gallon tank, right now i have a very pregnate half balck guppy, a pair of platties, pair of mollies, cory cat, pleco, 2 feeder goldfish, female sword tail and until last night i had a neon tetra (i think the sword tail ate it cause shes huge now)
i bought it for $50 and it came with a bubbler, bubble wall, heater, under gravel filter, regular filter and decor. altho i chose not to use the under gravel filter, i stil think it was a good deal for the tank.
here's some pictures of the tank and the fish in it, sorry my camera isnt the best for taking pics of aquariums |

| the tank came with 9 baby cichlids and the pleco, after finding out that they grow to 6" and eat everything including each other, i decided to take them to the pet store for some credits, which i bought the 2 platty's and the swordtail with ( which she is pushing a little over 2") and the neon tetra was only about a 1/2" |

| Whew, that's a lot of cichlids in that size tank. Good thing you researched them.
I'm sorry, I know you didn't ask but before you run into trouble with your tank, you should do some research on the pleco and goldfish.
If it's a common pleco, they're huge waste producers and can get really big. It's recommended they have at least a 55g tank.
Your goldfish are also big waste producers. They can also grow big. It's recommended that the first goldfish have 20g with an additional 10 for each additional goldfish. They are also cool water fish whereas the rest of your fish are tropical. Good luck. |

I love plecos, too bad they get so big. |

| welcome to fishlore! very nice tank, just one thing though, the feeder goldifsh are coldwater fish and the rest are tropicals, I would either return them and get some other fish or get a seperate tank for them, good call with the undergravel filter, they are unessasary in freshwater tanks, but are good for SW.
maybe you could put the pleco in your pond and then take him inside for the winter? just a thought. Last edited by Lucy; January 3rd, 2009 at 05:37 PM.
