Hi all,

Just wanted to drop a quick line and introduce myself. My name is Steve (obviously) and I live in the burbs of Chicago. I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank which is cycling as I type this. I just got it all setup and completed last night...so now the waiting game begins!

Anyway, I'm not 100% certain what we'll stock the tank with since we are still doing some research.

I have a few newbie questions which I'll post elsewhere. Just wanted to say HI!

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! I must admit, I did lurk around the formus for a bit before registering. Essentially because I didn't have any of my equiptment yet!

I am new to Fishkeeping hobby yet have always wanted to get involved. I took my 3 yr old to Petsmart one day and we stopped to look at the fish. Ever since that day, I've been working towards setting up an aquarium for us.

My goal is to have a school of 5-6 fish for my 3 yr old, a school of 5-6 fish for my 1 yr old and then both the wifey and I will pick out a "fancier" fish for each of us.

Anyway, this forum is awesome and has helped me a TON already. Can't wait to learn more and start being able to help others!
