Hello :)

Thought I'd finally get around to saying hi! My hubby and I are just getting back into all this fun stuff. He's more the hobbyist than I am. I like my fish, but I don't go nuts over the plants and all that to go along with it.

We have 3, soon to be 4 children, 2 mice, 1 hamster, some hermit crabs (Free to a good home!) and one 55 gal tank set up so far. We have kept fish and turtles before, but due to moving and lack of money we were unable to get back into it before now. Now, I'm going really, we can fit 6 more tanks in here... somewhere! Who needs room for the kids?!?!

On an off note, our Local pet store chains (Wal-mart and Pet supplies, plus) Have some really nicely priced aquariums. I couldn't believe it when I saw a 75 gal for 150$ and then they have some stands that hold up to two 40 gal fish tanks for 75-100$ I need more room for more!

Welcome to Fishlore.. and if looking at an aquarium with the right mix of fish and ornaments helps relax you, then the newest addition to your family will be as relaxed as you are, and may very well grow up wanting to start his/her own aquarium.. the calming effect of an aquarium is why you'll find them in the waiting-room of many doctors and dentists all over the world.

Welcome to Fishlore.

MTS hits hard, huh? You can also find good tank deals on craigslist and local yard sales.

Hi welcome to fishlore! There is another forum for hermit crabs, that has an adoption page, if you are looking for people willing to take your crabs. I would, but i'm in NY.
