New here.

Hey all . I am new to your site and newly back into the hobby after many years off. I just set my old 20 gallon tank up last Sunday and my new one up today. I wish I would have read up on the cycle before I got carried away, but was happy to find so much info here about it anyways. After having my tank set up for a couple of days I added 1 male Swordtail, 4 female Platies and a Albino cat for a total of 6. Now I know that it was to many to start out and have been on top of trying to control the levels with water changes and chemicals and it seems to be going well thanks to the info I have found on this site. I lost one of the female Platies and everyone else seems to be doing super well so its good so far. Once I have let the other tank run for a while I will move two of the fish I have over to it and let my tanks go through the cycle for a while before I get carried away again.

Glad you realize your mistakes before adding to them!

Welcom to Fishlore, and I hope you enjoy our community as much as I have.

May I ask what kind of catfish you got? A good many of the catfish grow quite large, but not all.

Thanks.

The Catfish I have is a Albino Corydoras. At the moment it is very small. Once my tanks have gone through their cycle I will have three cats in each. I really like watching them they are one of my favorites. I will go with three albinos in one tank and maybe three bandits in the other.
