Newbie here... from Western Oregon

So, yes... hallo!

I've had fish since I was a kid off and on. I was raised with a rather laid back tank-keeping style, and oddly... it never caused too many problems. Except that one time... but that was a heater malfunction...

Anyways. At the moment I've got a 5g hex with 3 longfinned Danios (2 zebra, 1 leopard), 4 female platies (2 bizzare colored ones, 1 blue, 1 mickey mouse tiger), and 1 octinulus (sp) catfish. This tank has live plants, bio-wheel filtration- it was a "complete" setup when I got it, minus the heater.

I have a small approx. 5g storage bin without anything in it but a heater and the filter from the 2.5g (we'll discuss it next). That's the "growout" tank for the babies mollies my late mollies had.

AND then we have the 2.5g tank- home to another oct. cat, a male crowntail black orchid betta, and a blue male platy. This one is being used to grow out plants for my mother's 29g. She started out with live plants, but the fish in her tank (or something) knocked them down to nothing. One species (I believe a Java fern) was still trying to reproduce with bits of root and leaf left, so I pulled them out and put them in here to grow out.

That's all I have at the moment... >.> lol
