Hi sinead welcome to fish lore I'm from Ireland also kildare to be exact you?your tank looks great not long on this site either find it great i have been keeping freshwater for a couple of years now have a 35L tank and 180L tank made all the same mistakes you did learning everyday just set up my first saltwater tank amonth ago 312L going grand just started to stock it 2 chromis, 1 cleaner shrimp,2 turbo snails cycled it fishless much quicker!prefer saltwater but is a little more difficult fish can be alot more delicate and dont adjust as easy as freshwater plus alot more expensive to set up and run but worth it so far anyway enjoy the hobbie need any help let us know can give you help with suppliers e.t.c. if your around my area.

tank is cool but i would say mix normal gravel with some coloured. coloured gravel is usually covered with something which does not allow bacteria (the good kind) to grow. a couple of real plants is ok dont be nervous they help the tank

what part of ireland are you in, i live in dublin

Nice looking tank you have. But it feels kind overstocked. Perhaps you might need to do water change more often. Anyways, welcome to Fishlore!
