Has anyone ever started a thread here saying "Hello, I've been a member for ages

Hello to everyone!
Im not completely new to fishkeeping and I already have one male Siamese Fighting Fish but im setting up my tank again after not having fish for awhile and Im going to be keeping fish I have never kept before so while my tank is cycling (tedious process) Im gathering information so that hopefully I can get a nice little community aquarium running without too many issues. There is nothing more disappointing than everything going pear shaped and losing fish because you haven't done the research. I will be very grateful for any assistance and I'll be happy to share my experiences and pictures with everyone.

Hello Annabelle
Welcome to fishlore! and.. yes we do love photos here! So post away..! Glad to hear that you are cycling your tank proper, by not using fish to do it. It is tedious.. but well worth it in the end. Good luck with that, and any help we can give.. or any help you can offer, thats what makes this a great forum!

Thanx everyone!
You all have been fantasic and really helpful already.
And yeah, Straight Val is the cheapest and easiest plant to get for an aquarium around here since they outlawed elodea. I like it cause it grows long and then the ends float on the top and help filter the light.

Welcome to Fishlore Annabelle! Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. I came to this forum knowing almost nothing about fishkeeping, and the members here helped me get my first tank set up.......and then TEN more! Trust me MTS (multiple tank syndrom) might set in a lot faster than you think
