hey my names Sidney, but people call me Adam or Nochman
im a 20year old MALE, who lives in the prairies of alberta
my parents bought me a rather small 9 gallon tank 2 years back and i rushed to hook it up, only to have mollies in it, and eventually a birstled-nose pleuco

later when i had moved out i scored an excellent deal on a 55g tank form a local store, and now i have it filled with a wild range of fish, form snow white lobster to zebra angels, and everthing inbetween which hasent gave me any probs and all fish appear happy and smilin, alhtough the occasional fight

BUT fish isent my area, im much better at growing plants, exspecially carnivourous ones, iv recently won a canadian photo contest with a VFT i grew, but thats another forum

i hope 2 find the information iv been seeking, iv had problems recently and thats what pushed me to locate youguys n girls so i hope i can resolve my issue with your help thx for takin the time 2 read me post

HI, ADAM! WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

There are a few things we still need to know about your tank that will help a lot!

Do you know about the nitrogen cycle? It sounds like your tank has been set up long enough to be through the cycle.....but it will help to know what the results are of your water tests.....

The API Master Test kit for freshwater (liquid) is what most around here use. So if you can get this, and test your water what are the results for: Ammonia , Nitrite , and Nitrate?


How long HAS this 55 gallon tank been set up? Exactly what is in it? How many of each?

Usually if a tank is having problems the first thing to do, is to do water changes....are you currently doing these? If so, how much, and how often?

That should be a good start......hope we can help, and I hope you feel free to scout all around the forum, post where you can....send us pictures, WE LOVE TANK PICTURES!!
