I think you have already found out this is the friendliest fish forum going, glad you have joined, and post often..... sounds like there is a lot we can learn from you!

Hello I like this forum your right everybody is friendly happy I found it was on another forum but didn't like it .

Cheers mate, I'll definitely take the tip and go for larger filters as possible. I'll keep you posted on my progress when I get started..I'm looking at starting the project in about May. If yours arent live plants yet it doesn't matter about what wattage of lights - its only for you to be able to see the fish!

How many fish have you got in there all up at the moment? Wonder if this rate of filter clogging is normal? Maybe someone else can shed some light (no pun intended)

Phil before you bye 2 filters check out fluval fx5 it pumps out 1500lt a hour I hear they are very good ,
MY FISH
4 Clown loachs
2 silver sharks
1 red tail black shark
6 angelfish
3 gouramies
2 bristle noses
6 swordtail's
3 catfish [sucking loach ones]
8 lamp eyes
2 kissing fish
4 rams
everybody very happy the tank is crystal clear the 2217 is set up biological the 2215 has carbon and filter wool and 2 sponges i find this keeps the tank good 2217 clean every 6 weeks 2215 every 4 weeks the shop told me they should last 3 months without cleaning Im no where near that .
