bent fish

Hi I'm new to the site, was looking for some help with my fish, Nemo hes a freshwater rock bass or so the kids say, they got him out of a little pond area that was dryed up about 3 years ago. he was real little now hes pretty big, he stopped eating this year when it got cold and two days ago I found him bent like hes broke or something. hes still swimming as best he can and he ate a worm but hes bent, does anyone knoe what this could be and can i fix him?

Usually bent spines are a form of scoliosis. Brought on either by poor diet or water conditions or even a disease called Fish TB. A wild caught fish is more attuned to its natural conditions then that of a bred in a tank fish, and I suspect that your fish is not getting the required amount or types of food it needs. Either that or its in a small tank? Its so hard to say... is it loosing weight at all along with the bent spine?

Welcome to the site and ditto on everything Kate had to say.. if you post up on the freshwater disease board and clue us in on how big the tank is, what you're feeding him and how often, how often you change the water in his tank etc. there'll be someone here at Fishlore who can help you get that situation 'straightened' out right away.. no pun intended
