another Aussie

Hi everyone I live in a small coastal town in Victoria Australia and have achieved a long held desire to set up a freshwater tank with tropical fish. After lots of research I find that I still have soooo much to learn and am happy to have found this forum.

Cheers

G'day Tess, and welcome to FishLore, your in the right place to get all the info you need to get your tank up and running, if your not sure on something, just ask, hows the weather your way? been a bit on the warm side in WA. What size tank you looking at setting up?

Hi Peterpiper,
107 Litre tank, the weather is humid but probably just warm to a WA resident.

WELCOME to FISHLORE, Tess.

It is always fun to have folks join, I hope we can help out, and do keep us up to date with your tank.....How do you plan to stock it.

Be sure to read all the articles at the link at the top of this page for setting up a tank, and especially the nitrogen cycle. Take lots of time to research just what you want in your tank, so it isn't overcrowded....Do you have a good Local Fish Store (LFS) near?

still learning

I have learnt a lot and carefully followed the cycling etc so I am hoping I`m on track. The LFS has been helpful, So far I have 10 neon tetras, 1 small bristlenose catfish ( which finally came out of hiding after 3 days), 2 female guppies and 1 male guppy. I really like the look of Gouramis and just got 5 dwarf - 2 blue and 3 orange with blue fins. I would like to know what foods are good and should I include live food?
