Hi MelyBu. I have the same book, LOL. I love how it says not to place a tank behind a door. Doh!
Welcome to Fishlore!
Angels can be a little tricky if you're an absolute beginner, but you'll get plenty of advice if you decide to go down that route, as we have some angel keepers onboard. Corys are awesome fish, and not heavy producers, but are quiet sensitive to chemistry in new tanks.
I know that livebearers (guppys, platys, mollies, endler's livebearers) are a little more hardy to start off with, but i don't want to influence your choice, so this is just for info (there you go, MORE info!

).

I love the site! So far, I've narrowed my fish choices down to 2 Silver Zebra Angels, 4-2 inch Corys, and a few plants.
Can't wait to learn more, set up my tank, and jump in. |
