My name is Tay; I'm a 14-year-old fishkeeper
Hello everyone! My name is Taylor but please do call me Tay. I'm 14 years old and I'm obsessed with fishkeeping.
Right now I only have a 10 gallon tank, and it's one I've had basically my whole life. Recently (about a month ago) I wanted to start up the hobby again so the tank currently contains 4 long-finned danios and a pleco.
10 gallons is definitely not going to be enough for me because I'm going to want to keep more than just a few fish. I've done tons of research on everything I need. I know all about cycling, fish compatibility, the types of water certain species need, maintenance, etc. so don't worry about that. The only problem for me is that I have to buy my new tank with all of my own money. For a 14 year old this isn't easy work!
However, I think I've decided on a 46 gallon bowfront. It's a beautiful tank and seems like it would work well for me. I'd love a bigger one but I don't the space in my room and I can't afford it, so I guess the 46 gallon will have to do.
I also plan to get an external cannister filter because if I get an internal, I'll probably end up needing to upgrade later on, so I decided I'd save myself the trouble.
Basically, I'm just trying to introduce myself. Hi!

Hi Tay and welcome to fishlore. It really sounds like your a pretty mature 14 year old who had done the research necessary to start your fishkeeping hobby again. Good for you for taking the time to learn first what you need before you jump right in.
Look forward to hearing about your tank and occupants and good luck with saving for the bow front tank, which btw is a great size.

Yes, I am (I know he'll quick outgrow my tiny tank) as well as getting some Corys. I'll need myself a cleaning crew!
