Once I'm in sixth form, I'm going to drop languages. I guess they'll be helpful to boost up my number of good grades, but I don't really enjoy them.
I want to take music, art, maths, biology, and then I have one left to choose from English Literature or Language. That'll probably change sometime in the next year though, so I'm not sticking to anything yet. I would like to be a music teacher, but I'm going to have to wait and see... All my minimum grades are either A or A*, except music which is a B. I don't really get along with my teacher though.
I may end up doing maths as an 'extra', as I would've been able to take it early if the school had let me. I could have finished my maths GCSE by now, still with an A*, rather than wait another year, and stay with a class of kids that tend to need more help and attention. It's just pulled me back a little.
Art's just something I enjoy doing, and was surprised to hear my teacher basically offer me a place taking art for A-level when I'd only been doing it for GCSE for two months.

Hi my name is George From the great white north, SELKIRK Manitoba
home of the Catfish, trophy size catfish. I just stated about a month ago, I have a 10 gal tank with six neons tetras, the black phathoms tetras,six platies,4 ghost shirmp and two unknown that were snaged when I got ghost shirmp. I am working on my second tank I think it is 25 gal.problem it is used does anybody what clean it with. also why do some of my platies like string higning down from thier anal fins I thought it s "" T GREAT FORUM keep up the good work

Hi George Welcome to Fish Lore 
I hope you're going to move some of the fish from the 10g to the 25 because you're overstocked.
You can clean it with vinegar or bleach , just make sure you rinse it completely and thoroughly. If you use bleach, be sure to overdose the water with conditioner or it will kill your fish.
It sounds like your platies have an internal parasite. You might want to start a thread with a pic on the disease board, you'll get more advise that way.

Welcome to Fishlore. 
On your platys, they're little pooping machines and can often have LONG strings of poop hanging off them. If it's always white/clear then it's likely to be internal parasites.
I'd recommend posting a picture of your platys in the freshwater diseases forum to get opinions on them. Probably wouldn't hurt to get a box of parasite clear to have stocked either way though.

Hi, I'm Jen.
Right now I mostly have bettas... the majority are splendens, all but 3 of which I've raised myself, plus a breeding group of channoides (my first batch of fry are around a month and a half!). I also have a pair of Lamprologus ocellatus that have turned themselves into a group, lol.

Hello everyone! I am new to this site as well as caring for fish. In fact as we speak, my tank isn't even set up yet. I got a 30 gallon tank as a hand-me down gift, and I found this site while searching for a clue on what to do. Boy am I glad I found this site, or I'd be dealing with a really big mess. I fully intend on doing a planted freshwater tank, although I am still undecided on what my first 2 or 3 fish will be.
Oh! BTW I am a baker by trade, going to school to be a mathematician, and I am recently engaged!!
