2 blue gourami x 6 inches =
12 inches (unless you have blue DWARF gouramis.. then it's only 4 inches)
5 tiger barbs x 3 inches =
15 inches
2 platys x 2 =
4 inches
1 gold gourami x 5 inches =
5 inches (again - unless it's a DWARF, then only 2 inches)
2 sucker fish the ones that grow big x 18 inches =
36 inches (unless they are chinese algae eaters, and not plecos, then only 12 inches for either.. 24 total)
1 rosy barb x 4 inches =
4 inches
Total adult size.. you have
76 inches of fish... you would need a MINIMUM size of 76 gallon tank.
The way to figure it out is 1 gallon per 1" of adult size fish. Here is the link for the species..
http://www.fishlore.com/TropicalFishProfiles.htm if you click on the species of fish, down the bottom it will tell you the size and more information!
I would get rid of the plecos, take them back to the store... that will get rid of 36 inches. You can get otocinclus' instead, they only get to be 1" and they are algae suckers, too!
So if you get rid of the plecos, you're left with 40 inches... so you need to get rid of another 11 inches of fish... maybe the 3 gouramis.. and if you're set on having gouramis.. you could get dwarf ones that only get to be 2". (They look larger but only take up 2" of gallon space)
Sorry to be a downer... you do have a WAY overstocked tank. You could, of course, get another tank and split it up... but you're probably still looking at getting rid of the plecos. You really need a large tank to have them.
I don't have a lot of experience with breeding so I hope someone else can answer that for you!
