dust on surface

I'm having great sucess with the new tank, but cannot get the circulation to take a small film of what looks like dust, out of one corner. I have tried adjusting powerheads, but to no avail. Does anybody know of a way to skim surface contaminants by hand? It is only a small amount that I could do every 2-3 days. Thanks, BC

Create surface allegation. Just aim a power head to the surface and there you go.

Thanks, actually I did exactly that. The problem was that when I did it the first time, the powerhead was drawing air down from the surface because I have it so high in the tank, but my main pump was off to add "Marine Snow". When I restarted the main pump the tank runs 1" higher water level for the overflow and the powerhead works in that position! Thanks a lot, BC
