my tank is still showing ammonia after 9 weeks. in recently purchased 2 damsels to help with tank cycle about two weeks ago and still no change.there is lots of red slime starting to show and im guessing its down to low ph readings.im keeping up with the water changes and dont know what else to do should i just wait and hope it will correct its self or can anyone offer any positife suggestions.

Hi there, what method did you use to cycle fishless ? And did your try to raise the water temp during the fishless cycle? Or perhaps right now since you've added two fishes in, try to get bio spira or if it's not available, then just keep up with daily water change to keep ammonia as low as possible to not poison your fishes.

since you have fish, changing water daily is the only way other than the bio-spira like aquariumnewbie said... heres a link for bs http://www.aquariumplants.com/Bio_Spira_s/47.htm ...that cycles the tank within 24-48 hours and gives ya a lil break on water changes..what size is the tank? and what test kit are ya using?? otherwise, keep doing what your doing ...and patience will avail in no time at all took me weeks to cycle my 75 gallon with fish...worth it tho in the end run!
