Has anyone used Amquel+ i have used this in my big tank as the cycle is taking a bit longer than i first thought,and i dont want to upset my fish as the nitrite reading is a bit on the high side at 1,0 but the reading of my ammo is 0 have put in the correct amount and was wondering if when taking my reading 2morrow morning that they will still read nitrites or will they give me a reading of 0 nitrites ........ thanks

i've used amquel+ before, but i don't know that it will give you a reading of 0 nitrites.

actually, it seems that the nessler reagents will give you a false reading. i'm not sure which kits use nessler reagents and which use other reagents though. i'm thinking it should say on the test kit though.

thanks i will have a look at my test kit i use the one with the test tubes that you have to put the drops in .... did my reading this morning and all was fine ammo 0 nitrites 0 pH 7.4 nitrates 10 not sure how i will know if i have finished my cycle now that i have used Amquel+.....

if those are your readings, it looks like you're cycled alredy.

Thanks for your input ...... have re-checked water this morning all seem fine BUT ammo 0 nitrite is between 0 and 0.25 Ph 7.4 and nitrate 10 and have not added any more fish at present , as i had used amque+ i weren't to sure if that when they took all the toxins out of the water that it would give me a result that all was well? And then once the Amquel+ had been used up in the water that mine original results would come back if you know what i mean (think i have explained it right) ... As i would like to add a few more fish this week..... have not written my set up but this is what i have 346L (80 gallons i think) 121cm x width 51cm x height 70.5cm. with Rena filstar xp3 and 2 bubbler's have been cycling 3 weeks today... fish at moment are 1 plec 2 Dwarf Gouramis 2 Dwarf Cichlid (Keyhole) and 6 wild tetras .... live plants and a few stones and small castle for hiding in..........

i think you're fine to add some fish (as long as you go slow)
