Water Conditioners...

Hi Everyone, I am sure that this issue has come up before dealing with water conditioners. I have been using prime since I got my tank and now that it is cycled and I am getting low on water conditioner (Prime), should I swtich to something else? I have hear good things about NovAqua+ or Stress Coat or should I just buy another bottle of Prime? I just want is best for my fish Thanks.

You really can't go wrong using Prime, Stress Coat, Amquel+ and/or NovAqua+.

I have 10ppm nitrates in my tap water so I now use Amquel+ and NovAqua (Kardon recommends using both products) since it eliminates nitrates. The only drawback to Amquel+ is that it forces the API ammonia test to read false positive for ammonia, so I bought a powder based ammonia test kit from Kardon (the makers of Amquel+ and NovAqua+).

Ok great, I didn't know if "one is better than the other" kind of deal.

Hello Wolf I use Amquel + and Nova Aqua + . These come in Gallons and for me is much cheaper in the long run with large or multiple tanks. I don't think you have that option with Prime.
Ken

I have moved your thread to the "Aquarium Water/Water Conditioners" section of the forum.
Thanks!
Ken

Ken's sells Prime by the gallon and is cheaper then anywhere else - http://www.kensfish.com/waterconditioners.html

Pssst, Trick of the trade, Pond Prime is EXACTLY the same as Aquarium Prime...if you can find that cheaper in bulk, buy that. However go by aquarium dosing instructions.

I've seen Big Als take their Prime down to about $60-65 before, and if you price match them to Ken's they give an extra 5% off. Could probably price match it anyway. I tend to stick with just buying from Ken though, great guy. http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsUS...hemprime4liter

As to the OP, why switch? Is there a underlying reason to? Don't change it if it ain't broke IMO.
