Hello fellow fish lovers. I had been using just a plain water conditioner to remove
chlorine and
chloramine (which is indeed present in my tap water) when performing PWCs. Then I read that when the chloramine bond is broken it releases
ammonia. Because of this, I switched to amquel+ which claims to chemically bind chlorine, chloramine, nitrites, nitrates and heavy metals. This sounds perfect because my take is still not converting enough nitrites. The product claims that it will leave these substances available to your biological filter. Should I be concerned about the release of ammonia using a regular water conditioner?
