| After every water change, what do you do with the water? Every fish keeper does a water change either every day, every week, or even more than 5 times a week!
Well, what do you do with the water that you took out from your tank?
I can honestly say I'm very aware of the environment, and so I recycle water or save water by watering my plants with my tank water! |

Haha when I had my 5 gallon in my room I just used to siphon the water out the window. I sometimes hit my dog, or the car, or... my neighbor (at least on one occasion). . |

| I have several ways to deal with annoying neighbors. My dog Jake hates when the toy poodles next door bark at him because they don't stop barking, so he hikes his leg on the fence between our two houses, and if I didn't know better, I'd swear he takes aim. |

| lol, when i was cleaning the pond i found my synydos catfish, i swear he has to be over 9 years old. I put the water on my moms plants right outside the door and dump the water on the grass. i always dump the water in the same place and the clump of grass grows alot faster. I should sell it to my neighbors |

I think it's the nitrates. Good stuff |

| The python tanks go down the kitchen sink. The smaller tanks I have to siphon and carry in buckets so one bucket goes to my plants the rest goes down the toilet... not much other choice in an apartment. <shrug> |

Perhaps I could save the water to use throughout the week (water my 3 pots every day), but i'm afraid it would get funky after a day or two without aeration.
Oh well, fish water is pretty close to drinkable so Ii's not really a burden on the reclamation facility. |

| mine goes to my plants & i'm in an upstairs apt but i run the hose out the window and it trickles down the roof into the gutter. I'd rather it all go in the gutter and on the ground than flushed in the toilet...atleast the grass can use it, insects drink it, u know stuff like that |

| Good morning. I've moved your thread to "water changes" section of the forum since there isn't actually a poll to vote on.
Thanks!

| Buckets are heavy! Size & strength are not a part of me. I siphon into either an industrial type mop bucket on wheels or a 5 gallon bucket on a wheeled plant stand. So it's much easier to roll it to the back door & dump - just lean it over - no lifting. The sink or toilet would require lifting, therefore much smaller buckets. It's amazing how heavy a gallon of water is, and how easily a bucket sloshes over the top when you try to carry it! I do my refills one gallon jug at a time. I have one set aside just for fish, to be sure they get only water without contaminants. I do get exercise in walking back & forth, even in this tiny little house. (But since I sit still all week at work, that's a good thing.) |
