| In this thread: Is my fish sick?
yesterday your ammonia was between 2 and 3.
That's highly toxic. Usually TSS will cycle your tank in about 10 days. For whatever reason it obviously didn't work.
My suggestion is the same as the other thread, daily water changes until your tank is cycled.
You have a fish that isn't feeling well ( unless he's better today) and relying on TSS IMO wouldn't be a good idea at this point. |

| Hi Kay,
I'm with Lucy. I would start doing daily water changes of 50% to get the ammonia down and to save the fish. It's no fun doing the WC but it will help and in the end it's so worth it when all your fish are happy and healthy. |

| Good morning. Since it sounds as if the TSS didn't work for you, I agree with the daily water changes until your readings are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates. Add some Prime or Amquel + to detox the ammonia with each water change. Best of luck!

| Sounds like you got it. I know it can be hard sometimes but what we do for our babies. You will get through this just hang in there and you have everybody here for support. Just change water, change water, and change some more water. I have faith you can do it. |

| Good morning Kate (afternoon for you, I imagine lol)
I looked at the product. It's not the same as Prime. Someone from the UK answered in in you other thread that Prime isn't available in the UK. They got theirs off of e-bay.
What you want is a water conditioner that removes chlorine, chloramine. detox's heavy metals and ammonia (Not remove ammonia, only detox it) |

| You normally don't need 2 water conditioners. If you use one that detox's the ammonia it won't remove it, just make the water safe for 24 hours.
Can you get Amquel+? |

| I dont know if i can get any ive not seen it about. Will Amquel+ remove chlorine, chloramine and ammonia? so i wont need to use the Water Safe that i have at the moment?
Made a short list of what products i have
1. Tap water conditioner
2. TSS
3. Tropical fish start up pack
4. Tetra test 6 in 1
5. Tap water treatment
6. Ammonia test strips
7. King British, safe water Last edited by Lucy; August 1st, 2009 at 11:02 AM.

| You only need 1 water conditioner that does what's outlined in post 9.
Personally, I'd ditch the test strips, they're inaccurate and get yourself a good liquid test kit like the API master kit. |

| Doesnt the King British, safe water detox it or does it just remove it for 24 hours? If i do a say 80% water change and then add the water conditioner and the King British, safe water would that maybe work? |
