water conditioner

so when you do your weekly water changes and you add your water conditioner to the tank do you dose for the hole tank or just the 10% to20% you change?

personally I dose for the whole tank. With Prime its easier as I dont have to use a pipet to get miniscule amounts for the say 5 or 10 gal i am changing

Thats what I do to mine each week and it seems to thrive, having just had to fish another 40 or 50 fry out this week alone

Assuming I'm only using it as a dechlorinator not to detox ammonia or treat for frayed fins, I only condition the new water.

i just treat the new water i'm adding to the tank, not the whole tank if you're using a python then you treat the whole tank (because it adds water directly from the tap to your tank) but otherwise i'd suggest just treating the new water

With weekly wtaer changes i doubt you'll have problems with ammonia, so i think PRE-TREAT the water your adding to the tank . I say before adding it to be safe. Many people lose thier fish right after water changes where they don't treat it first.

I only treat the new water using Prime for my 55 gallon (all my tanks for that matter). 10 % weekly PWC keeps my tank nice and healthy, no probs so far. I do however, add Stress Coat to the entire tank when adding new fish ... makes me feel "not so guilty" for stressing them out ...

I've never used stress coat, yet. I added aq salt to my tanks to help the fish produce thier own slime coat, but thats it.
well theres alot more but i'll stay on this subject. I used novaqua+ which helps slimecoat, immunity and more.
