Toxic gas pocket?

I just had the same thing happen to me. I have 37 US G, w/ 4 white clouds, 7 harlequin rasboras, 2 yo yo loaches, 6 gold barbs, 2 dwarf gourami, and 3 peppered cories. I did a 50% water change w/ my tap water (the same way i've always done it) Friday night, everything was fine until Saturday afternoon. I did go a little more agro on the vacuuming this time around and I did pull some plants that had seen better days. Is it really possible that I released a toxic gas into the tank? My pH, nitrates, ammonia, nitrites are all normal. Any advice here would be great.

Also, I'd like to restart the tank. Where do I begin?

Thanks in advance!

rjm316: That is terrible. After everything I read on here I am unsure what to think. I would think a gas pocket would have been stirred while you were vaccuuming. I also think that the water would have effected the fish as soon as it was added, not 20 or 30 minutes later when you turned the filter on.

csteiner73: You might want to ask a moderator to move your post to its own thread. You will most likely get more replies that way.

Done
Maybe we'll get more input in a thread of it's own.
