Water Change

I did my first water change today! I used a Siphon to take the water out, but it took a while to start it working, but I'm sure I'll probably get used to using it!!

I was wondering, how often should I be doing a water change? Once a week?

I wrote a message saying about my fish getting stuck in the filter, and that it split one of his fins. Somebody said (can't remember who, soz) to do more frequent water changes to help him grow the fin back and to stop any infections. If I do this, how frequent should I be doing water changes?

Thanks

Re: Water Change

Normally, you should be doing water changes once a week, but with a sick fish you should do one at least twice a week, but the more the better. Also it is always good to do a water change whenever you notice a sick or dead fish.

Re: Water Change

25% once a week in the normal water change schedule. to help your fishs fin grow back doing that twice a week should help tremendously. Still keep a watch to make sure it doesn't get infected.

Re: Water Change

Thanks. I'm keeping a close eye on him and the others, and will make sure that it doesn't get infected. I'll make another water change soon. I'm also goin gto be making sure they ae all in the tank and not in the filter. I don't know how he got in!

I hope he gets better soon!
