Distilled Water

I was wondering if refilling my tank with distilled water is okay after water changes. So far after every water change, I use room temp. distilled water. Any problems with doing this?

I use distilled water for my saltwater tank because it is purer so I have less algae growth. I do not use it for my freshwater tank because I see no reason in doing it and because it is more expensive to buy distilled water for a larger tank. I don't see why you would need to use distilled water, it is merely very pure water with few minerals in it. My personal opinion would be not to use it and save money but there is NOTHING wrong with using it.

Honestly from everything I have heard you shouldn't use distilled water. You need to use spring water or tap water for the minerals that are in it. The fish need the minerals.

I think... Distilled water lacks all the trace elements and nutrients that your fish need to be healthy. Unless you are adding vitamins to the water you may be doing more harm than good.

If your tap water, after you add your water conditioner, is totally horrible... I would not recommend using distilled water.
