Prob a stupid question but I have to ask... about water changes...

Okay when I do my little tanks (my 1 gallon, 6 gallon, and 10) I always bought water for the tanks not worring about any clorine that way. Well... now I have my 55 gallon tank... Its cycled I have my fish in it and Thursday will be my first fish in water change time due. When you use the tap water in the bucket do you wait until the bucket of water is showing no clorine? or do you treat the water as you are putting it in the tank as if you were filling the tank for the first time?

good morning!
With all water changes its a good idea to use something like Prime with the new water. Just add the correct amount noted on the bottle to each bucket of water. With that there is no reason to wait or buy bottled water.

If you are using a python to clean your tank, most folks simply add the dechlor into the stream of new water going into the tank. I have been doing it that way for years with no casualties, although it's possible to affect some of your bacteria this way.
