Re: water change questions

If all you are doing is dechlorinating the water why do you need a stress-reducer? (I am not as versed in treating water as some are, I am on well-water, so we use our tap water straight into the tanks.)

Re: water change questions

Unless treating a specific condition, all you strictly NEED to treat your water with before a change is a dechlorinator. Personally, I also like to use something that promotes the fish's slime coat as well. AquaSafe and Stress Coat each do both of those things(dechlorinate and promote slime coat), so use one or the other, but there is no need to use both together. Stress Zyme, so far as I can tell, does neither. It is billed as a bacterial additive. You will hear different opinions on those, but I personally am sceptical about most bacterial additives with the exception of Bio-Spira. But in any event, unless your tank is not cycled, you do not need a bacterial additive anyway. Therefore I would suggest not using the Stress Zyme.
