This is a positive PetSmart review. Even though it is a good 20min away from me it is my
LFS because my town is so small. I went in the other day when I had an extra few minutes. I usually refuse to buy fish from the chain stores but the fish shop in town just went out of business. Which is terrible because it was a great store.

Anyway, I wanted a good idea of how this PetSmart handled their fish and fish customers so I went in pretending not to know a thing. They always have a ton of employees running around so you never have to search for help (it is my favorite place for my dog and hamsters) and even though it was 10 at night they had at least two people in the fish area. They were both very knowledgeable, one a little condescendingly so, but the other was great. They knew the fish well enough that they even knew how long most of the individuals were there. They knew how to sex all of the fish, and before I had the chance to get attached to any kind in particular they asked me what size tank i would have and were sure to tell me what could and couldn't fit in the tank as well as tell me what could and couldn't be together. They also helped me pick fish with the activity, temperament, and care level I wanted. Most importantly to me, they neither pushed information on me-as some will try even if you tell them you know what you are doing- nor did I have to ask a thousand questions before I knew everything. All in all it was a good experience and i intend to get my fish from them now.
