Anyone at all have any recommendations about good ones?

All Pets Club and Slither & Swim are both good, but selection is so-so and it depends on who's working when you go in.

Well, guess I'm the only CT person on here or CT person who is looking for an LFS... but for future reference... Emmons in Simsbury (unfortunately, not very local to New Haven) was wonderful this week. I was so impressed!
Healthy fish, not a dead one in sight, employees changing water, great selection, knowledgeable staff, and undercrowded tanks. The only drawback - the aisles are a little overcrowded for people.. but hey.. what can you do? Do yourself a favor if you live in the area and visit this store!

Have you checked out Purr-fect Pets? I've found them to be better than any of the others in the area, though sometimes the selection on rarer fish is a bit slim. I'm a bit biased since I recently started working there. We do tend to get alot of oddballs in when they aren't priced too badly at the wholesaler, and I'm actually going to be breeding a few different kinds of fish (Discus, Apistos, Killies) and will be selling them there, but not for at least a month or two.

I can't say I liked Slither and Swim. The one time I went in the fish were OK, but expensive, not so great selection, and of the two people working there, one was a ***** and the other knew next to nothing.

I'll have to check out All Pets Club.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out. It sounds really familiar.. What town is it in?

BTW, went to All Pets Club last night and got some Serpaes, and there were really helpful, friendly people, once again. Its a bit of a drive for me, but nice place.

I know it's a little further than New Haven, but the Life Gallery in Fairfield used to be a great shop. It's been about 5 years since I lived in CT, but Post road in Milford (a few different places) or the Life Gallery where the best places to shop. I think there is still an aquarium store in Trumbull center, right on White Plains road.
