Two good LFS's -- Kansas City, MO

Miles of Exotics, 345 NW Barry Rd (North KC)-- This is the best LPS I have found so far in KC. Helpful and friendly staff and an excellent selection of fish. Also, they carry Bio-Spira! If you like birds and/or reptiles, they've got that covered as well. 4 1/2 (out of 5) stars! I'd give them 5 stars, but size constraints keep them from stocking a good selection of aquariums.

Brothers Pets, 4015 Sterling at I-70 and Sterling--Excellent selection of fish and aquariums. They're quite popular it seems and sometimes service is slow, but overall generally good. The knowledge of some of the staff is sometimes spotty, but the owners know their stuff. They don't carry Bio-Spira though so that costs them half a star. 4 stars.

Re: Two good LFS's -- Kansas City, MO

Oh good! I've been sorely disappointed with the LPS/LFSs that I've found around here, even though I've just been stopping by them in my spare time.

Waldo Pets: dirty tanks and a whole tank of dyed blood parrots.
Mission Pet Mart: Good selection of saltwater fish and plants (even a large tank of live rock), tanks seem reasonably well taken care of, but a small tank of dyed blood parrots in the corner.

Very frustrating for me so far, but I'm going to have to check out those two you listed now.

Glad to help. Of the two, I would recommend Miles of Exotics if you're looking for fish (cleaner tanks, better staff). If you're looking for tanks, filters, etc., I recommend Brothers Pets. Neither carries dyed fish as far as I know. I've never seen any FWIW.
