I'm pretty sure the hubby and I will be there.

You taking the princess, BB?
Hubby tells me there are a ton of rare fish and awesome plants (he's been to one or two before).

You have time to book a plane trip (we can pick you up at the airport) or drive even. You are more than welcome to stay with me and we will just have a blast with all of our new treasures. You can see the new fish room and we can just have a big ole time!!! Come on now you can do this!!!!

Thanks!
I will admit, hubby and I have an empty 55 and 46 bowfront, and have given this quite a bit of thought! We've been discussing this at length, and are trying to work out legalities/permits/etc., but we're really wanting to convert the garage into a shop. We have a FANTASTIC selection in this area when it comes to SW, but no one really caters to FW! Anyway, we're hoping to score big at the auction, and start propagating plants and hopefully breeding some fish.

Oh, yes! We'll be there! I'm going to try to keep her away from any plecos we see, though. I don't want any more of her plecos in my tanks.

Maybe I can find that 75 gallon I need for this last pleco fiasco

Exactly how are you going to keep her away LOL? It is an auction and you never know what is coming up next. You will go home with a boatload of plecos I can just see it now.

You are sssoo lucky you're in Canada

I'm already starting to think of "backup plans" in case I get something that doesn't really go in any of my current tanks

SW-OMG, I can see it now. EVERY tank would have a pleco in it if she had her way She's already stolen a few of my fish. She stole my bolivian ram, tried to steal my jellys (I'll get her a pair at the auction if they have any), put HER pleco in MY tank, tried to steal my false julii corys. Man, oh man, why did I start sharing fishkeeping with her

Anyone who has never been to a giant auction you have to go.
Lots of fish not often seen in the hobby, and usually the everyday stuff also, and the great prices will blow you away.

And you can see BB's new pleco's!!!

I have to agree here. I have only been one time and that was the one in March and if I can help it I will never miss another one!!! Great fish/plants/snails all raised by folks like us that actually take care of their stuff the right way. Wonderful prices!!!

And I also can't wait to see PlecoPrincess' new pleco's

BB they usually have several kinds of pretty pleco babies
More plants than you can shake a stick at.
Make sure to go at least 30-45 minutes before auction time so you cn look and write down numbers from the bags so you will know when the ones you are interested in come up for bid.
Have fun everyone!

This sounds like so much fun!
We'll be on the road Fri and Sat. I don't see me getting all the way to Atlanta on Sun.
Maybe next year

Have a great time and take plenty of pics!

If you dig around here you can get a slim idea of some of the fish that will be there.

Oh that is not too far away!!! Yeah like I won't find all I want and then some this weekend. Hoping to clear out some babies here to add some newbies to my collection hee hee. I can hardly wait. I will most definitely keep the Charlotte auction in mind too....this could be a worse addiction than drugs!

Raliegh aquarium club has them too but I think they've had theirs already It's really cool to go to all of these because you see and meet some of the same people. And as you take babies to sell people get to know you too
Fish auctions are what we did for fun when we lived in Ga

Well to be completely honest when we went to the one in March (that was our first) we just went for fun. Well now we are both hooked. Tommy loves the tanks and dry goods and all that stuff while I cannot take my eyes off of the fish and plants being auctioned off. I have to say it is a great way to enjoy the company of people with the same interests as we have and it is loads of fun. Anybody that gets a chance should go to at least one of these auctions...you just cannot describe the whole thing to people it is kind of a have to be there and experience it for yourself kind of thing.

Hee hee yup sure am. The funny thing about it is when we left the one in March Tommy was asking me when there would be another one. This is as we drove home with the back of the truck loaded with tanks and stands and boxes plus the boxes up front with us. LOL I had so much fun I think that it might be illegal in some states.

That Charlotte auction sounds interesting! Is it hard to get hotels close to the auction site?
