6/30/2008 - Day 18 (Where's Jordan? Did he quit the band?)
So, last night when I got home from work, I went to check on the Kids, as is normal since this hobby has taken over my life...er...I mean...since I started looking after fish... I went over to Mori first as I feel like he has kind of been getting the shaft since the New Kids moved in.
He comes to the top of the water and "wiggles" at me when I come to his tank now. He's a funny fella, but I figure it is just for the blood worms he loves so much. I talked to him for a bit and gave him his dinner. He was happy.
I turned to go to the 30g with the New Kids and say hello to all of them. The fish were much more active today and have become more and more active each day they are in their new home. They seem to be getting used to things and accustomed to their new home. For this, I am very thankful.
I count up the Tiger Barbs. Yup, all 6. There's the Swordtail (still no official name). There's Delores, the crazy Emerald "Cory." There is the little Cory, too. But, where's the medium sized catfish, the other Peppered Cory? I haven't seen him in a while.
I looked at the tank from every angle, but couldn't see him anywhere. I fed the New Kids, but still, no where to be seen. I told Gabby about this and she freaked out a little bit because one of the Cory's has already died and she is afraid another one may as well.
I told her that I wasn't sure that was the case and that he may just be hiding somewhere or maybe he comes out more at night. She helped me look in the tank, but still no luck. She asked that I use something to shake up the decor of the tank a bit and get him to move if he was hiding somewhere. I don't really want to do that, though, because they are just starting to get comfortable with their home and will prolly stress them out if I start messing with stuff.
I haven't seen a body or anything yet. I even checked all around the tank externally to ensure that the Cory didn't leap from the small space in the hood next to the filter (as strange as it sounds that a Cory might jump out of the tank). I didn't see anything and I sure haven't smelled anything.
Regardless, I'm worried. If I still can't find him tonight, it may be time to file a missing persons report with the Intergalactic Fish Police Association (IFPA). Maybe the Fish Aliens got him? Let's hope not.
Either way, The New Kids on the Block must march forward in their quest of world domination. One less member cannot stop the revolution. VIVA LA MTS!
