While at work, I checked the status of my order of supplies from Drs. Foster and Smith and lo and behold, it said that they were on the truck being delivered to my apartment right then and there!

I called my wife to see if she could put them inside the apartment when she went home for lunch and she agreed.
So, when I got home from work, two big boxes were waiting on me! Yeah! I didn't want to worry about getting everything actually set up yet as I had plans on doing that this weekend. Besides, I want to work on the aquascaping in the tank anyway. Some more/different/taller plants and I want to slope the substrate. Gabby and I will go buy some of those supplies on Sunday.
However, I did want to at least get everything out of their packing boxes and take a look. The first long box was the new hood that was ordered. The old one had a separate light fixture and I seriously just felt like the light was going to fall into the water through the hood. That just wasn't going to do, so this has a built in light fixture. It was in good condition and looked fine so I just set it aside.
The other box contained all of the other goodies. As I started taking things out, a couple of things struck me. The first was that the box that the filter was in looked to be in pretty bad condition. Looks like it had gotten pretty beat up in transit or before being packed into the shipping box. I hope everything is alright with it. In addition, the heater packaging was pretty busted up! I wasn't super impressed, but as long as everything works good, its no problem. I kept the receipt, so no worries.
I also checked on Mori (and fed him his freeze dried bloodworms which he loves) to see how he was doing. And, he was still doing well. Looks like the craziness has passed for now with him. I'll get him a shrink if it kicks in again! He was kind of hamming for some pictures this morning, so I took some more of him.

P.S. Donovan asked why I was taking the camera to work this morning. I explained to him what a blog was (he is 8 after all) and what Fishlore was. He was impressed. He did, however, want me to make sure that I told everyone that Masahari Morimoto's REAL name is actually Midnight. He used to have a Betta named Sunset cause it was orange... So, this is Midnight, to him.
