This is my journal to chronical the birth and growth of my 100gal saltwater tank.
The tank was a fresh water angel tank up untill a couple of months ago when the tank cracked down the entire side and 95+ gallons of water went all over my living room. I lost all of the fish and plants because I was in Las Vegas when it happend. So thanks to the help and generosity of my
LFS who gave me a new tank for free and a stand for cost to replace the others I am stariting over. How ever this time I figured I would make the tank a Saltwater Reef tank.
First the basics.
100USgal tank
120lbs of sand
Fluval 405
canister filter system
250w ViaAqua Stainless Steel Heater
2 65w Actinic Blue lights
2 65w 12k Power Compact Lights
4 1w Lunar Lights
Here is a picture of the tank tanken 2 days ago.
As of today the water readings are
pH 8.4
Amonia .2
nitrite .20
nitrate 20ppm
phosphate 2.0
Clacium 560ppm
Hardness 14%
salinity 1.235
It looks as though it is going through another mini cycle, I will just have to keep an eye on it and do a couple of water changes.
It is a start and I am excited to see how this turns out.
