I recently purchased a 125gal tank which came with a 15" catfish (gone to a friends 3000gal pond), a oscar that they said was ugly because of his age - actually had severe hole in the head and fin rot (he was euthanased) and a 10" tin foil barb in good condition. The tank was in a bad condition and the owner admitted not having the time for it anymore.

Hes currently in a 90gal tank (will move him back to 125gal shortly, when fully set up) with a breeding pair of dempseys, 7 pink convicts (one adult, 6 sub adults), 2 juli cory cats, red tailed shark and a common pleco.

what should i feed him as hes attacking my plants?Are there any plants that fish dont like eating? and is he going to be ok living with these fish as all are smaller than him and are currently hiding even though none are small enough to fit in his mouth!

P.S have now banned husband from buying more tanks as 2x 10 gal, 20 gal, 46 gal, 55 gal, 90 gal and 125 gal is making the house look like a fish shop and it takes a day to do water changes every week.

the dempseys may be a bit of a problem, if they do become a close pair with eggs and/or fry, they will certainly attck or maybe kill anything that gets to close.
