Question about my new barbs not eating

I just introduced two small (4") Tin Foil barbs into my tank and they are the only fish as I know they grow large and will eventually add a few more in there. I only had them in there for about 2 days, I know it may be premature to be concerned but I have not observed them eat yet. They are extremely active and seem to swim into one corner of the tank like they are trying to get out. I just put in a very small amount in to get their interest but they could care less. Is there anything I should be worried about or is this normal behavior for these fish or it's because they are new to the tank. the water parameters are safe and temperature is 78f. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yeah, this is normal behavior they are just not used to the enviorment yet. Give them about a week and they will be eating like monsters. By tommorow they should show some interest inthe food.

HI RLYNCH437, WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

Your fish should start responding to the food in a couple of days.

Did you cycle your tank before adding fish? You didn't show the nitrate reading in your aquarium profile, so I can't tell, but that might cause some stress, just keep an eye out....

If they don't respond to food in a day or two you can add a garlic flavor to it....You can either buy from the LFS, www.drsfostersmith.com or use fresh, mashed and add some to the food before feeding your fish...it seems to attract them...

I would say if they look healthy then dont worry for now, let us know daily how they are doing. Like one poster said is your water good quality?
