Just completed my tiger barb collection. I have 4 standard tiger barbs and 4 green barbs. I noticed tonight that the 2 larger standard barbs stripes are barely noticable while the two smaller standard barbs have very dark prominent stripes. Are there any health issues I need to be aware of or is it a male/female trait? They are all still active and I have noticed no odd behavior out of any of them.

30 gallon tank
pH 7.6
Water is slightly hard.
Nitrates look good and no ammonia problem.

Ive noticed that with mine but if there new to the tank give them a few days to adapt and there colors should come back.

They would have to be stressed by something. What exactly are the readings of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? The pH seems a little high, what is the reading of the water you add to the tanks?

one of my green tiger barb lost all his colour and stoped eating when i added new fish! but now hes eating and schooling with them and gaining colour back. I would just give your barbs some time theyll be fine! there tought! they have made it though the worst times in my tank!!
