MASSIVE COLOR LOSS

My Tiger Barbs have recently begun losing all their color. They are turning a hazy grey and have lost all their vibrancy that they use to have. There are currently 6 of them with two Otocinclus catfish. They just sit over next to the heater and don't move much. This is a vast difference from what they used to be like when they would swim all over the tank. I fear they may be sick but there is nothing to suggest that besides the loss of pretty much everything they used to be. They have been like this for at least 3 weeks now so I don't think they are sick. Please if any one has any suggestions with what could be causing this tell me. All of the chemical levels are fine besides the pH being around 6.5.

Tank Setup:
10 Gallon with extra large power filter
100 watt heater maintaining 80F
Aquarium Fish Light on 8 hours a day then off for night.
Fed when light is on.

Re: MASSIVE COLOR LOSS

I assume your tank has been fully cycled? You can also try dropping your temp a little bit...Maybe down to 77 deg...Do it gradually over the course of a day or two. It may be just a tad too warm for them.

Are they eating?

Re: MASSIVE COLOR LOSS

I had one barb that did that to me and he didnt eat or school with the others i started to FREAK OUT!! but then he started to eat and now he schools with the others and it took him about 3 weeks too! but im not going to say do nothing because if they all did it somethings not right! something in your water has changed! and is causing them to stress. so tell us what all you test readings are and we will help you the best as possible!
