So my group of TBs decided to outcast the smallest one in the group.


I woke up this morning and his tail fin is pretty much gone, I put him in my 10g tank for now.

Will his fin re-grow?

aww poor lil guy..yes it will grow back...daily partial water changes with some stress coat+ will do wonders..it takes a few weeks tho...but prestine clean water is a must...you dont want fin rot to set in ....if you can find some fish protector and vita chem, that will help allot also...put 2 drops of fresh garlic juice once a week in the tank and that will stimulate his appetite and help him feel better fast! you may not be able to readd him until he is as big or bigger because he is low man on the totem pole and they will continue to pick on him

I think i'll pickup some other smaller TBs from the LPS sometime and I'll add them + the hurt one at the same time.

Problem is, he isn't the only one in the 10g tank.

And the 55g tank has an ICH outbreak

oh no! when it rains, it pours huh.....what else is in with him in the 10 gal? as long as there are no nippers or meanies, he should be ok...but, when a fish is sick or weak, many other fish will take advantage of that even if they arent normally mean....also, the sick or weak one could come down with ich as he was exposed to it and his immune system is low..so keep an eye on the 10 gal also...good luck!

I had to remove my smallest albino barb today. He was fine when I shut the light off last night.

Wake up this morning and ALL of his fins are gone.

Update on the smallest tiger barb:

All of his fins except for his big fin in the back have grown back.

I don't think the rear fin will be comming back, it seems to have healed up and no signs of the fin re-growing. Looks just like a stub.

they like to be in schools to make agression and niping go away i belive 6 is the lowest amount to keep

he was in my 55g and was attacked.

i put him in the 10g to nurse him back to good health.

all of his fins but his rear fin have re-grown.
