Albino Tiger Barbs vs. Apple Snail / other fish

I have had three albino tiger barbs and three other fish (can't remember exact species) and an apple snail for a few weeks now. Recently -- the past few days -- I have noticed the larger of the tiger barb is nipping at the foot of the apple snail. Today I woke up and every time the snail tried to get out of it's shell the tiger barb would come and nip at him, causing him to retract back in. Then later today the barb began nipping at the other fish in the tank.

I know that these fish can be aggressive, but I was just wondering if getting another type of food for them would be more helpful? Or if the nipping has nothing to do with this? I did notice that they generally don't rush to the top when I feed the fish, and typically snatch small amounts of the food as it is falling. Any suggestions? Like I said, the tank has been fairly peaceful up until a couple days ago.

How long has the tank been setup? In my girlfriends daughters 20 gal we had 4 TB. They didn't show any agression at all for several months. Probably abouta year. Then they got extreamly agressive. At that time I moved them to my 100 gal and the agression went away for several weeks. When they started to get agressive towards the fish in my 100 I got 4 more smaller TB. That stopped all agression that I was seeing, but livebearer babies were still disapearing as fast as they were born. After a short time I moved all 8 to a 35 gal where I hope to breed them. Since the move MOST of my guppy fry have survived in the 100 gal. I have also purchased 3 more female TB that are currently in a 2.6 QT tank until I decide that they are healthy and ready to breed.
