Hey Everyone, I only have one tiger barb in my tank right now. However, I just added a powder blue gourami and he seems to find interest in him. He does not show that much fin nipping towards the other fish. So, is this because the gourami is new to the tank?

it probably is and also, tiger barbs will nip continuously especially if not in the proper school...they do best in 5-8 ration for them because then they dont have time to mes with other fish because they are too busy keeping control of the school....id remove the barb and see if you can return him and maybe up your barb and tetra stock? ....
your rose barb and tetra prefer schools as well...

I just returned the tiger barb and I plan on getting a 55 gallon soon so my other fish can school. I feel at fault because I did not do my research before I bought the fish.

I sincerely believe this may be the coolest post ever. A lot of us have bought before we thought. Good on you for at least doing the research later!

my red tiger barb is new to the school and is not shooling ith the others yet maybe the others dont like the red one lol
