Hello and welcome to fishlore!
Most chain store's have a return policy on their fish. What I would do is just bring them in and tell them what happened. If anything, at least you will be able to get rid of them. I also had tiger barbs and I can say they are very aggressive little fish, and I had mine in a group as well, and it didnt matter. They would just attack each other and I had one kill two of the other tiger barbs.
I agree with Martinismommy... they are on my list of 'least favorite' fish.. but I understand the draw to them, as they are very kewl looking fish!
Also, the black skirt tetras are very aggressive as well, so it may have been a mutual aggression going on in your tank!
Good luck with them... I hope you are able to bring the tigers back..
EDIT: I just looked at your aquarium info... and you are WAY overstocked! That may be a big reason for your tank aggression going on...
