how much brine shrimp?

My t. barbs love freeze dried brine shrimp, but I don't know how often I should feed it to them. Should it be considered as a food that they can have at any feeding time, or should it be a treat only?

I would feed no more than can be consumed in about a minute.

I believe that brine shrimp should be a treat only. I think I've heard that it can cause constipation if fed too frequently.

Agreed.
This is a problem with feeding large amounts of high protein food, like brine shrimp.

I agree with Sirdarksol in that thay should only be feed once a week as a treat.
IMO, Brine shrimp, are absolutely worthless as a nutritional supplement, as they are very low in protein and long chain fatty acids, The only time BS has nutritional value is at the instar I stage ( when it still has its yolk ). Adult BS can be enriched by gut loading.
It's a bit long.. but if you want to know more, then have a read..

Thanks, I had a feeling they were mostly "junkfood".

If you want to give them a good treat, get some Mysis Shrimp, just give them a really good rinse

Is that the same for bloodworms? I asked this question in a "feeding" thread and some said it was great for daily angel diet among others...
