Has anyone in the Southern California area, more specifically the San Gabriel Valley, seen Green Neon Tetras for sale at any LFS? I am hoping to find these locally and be able to add a school to my tank.

Sorry snakestorm526, I'm not in the area you are asking about, but I've seen green neon tetras in my LFS on occasion.
You might ask around to see if they ever get them in. (Paracheirodon simulans aka "green neon tetra")
Sometimes LFS's get shipments from overseas on different weeks and you may miss seeing them before they are sold out.

As an alternative, I have personally seen the green fire tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) in a store tank and these photos do it no justice. They are real beauties.

You could order them online. There's an LPS near my place where they sell loads of Green Neons, so it's really common for me here. But it's too bad I live so far away from the states, otherwise I wouldn't mind shipping some to you
