Are these different kinds of tetras compatible with each other?

I am planning on getting either a 90 gallon or 120 gallon tank. I've done some research on fish compatibility and have gotten some good answers on the forums.

One question I had was about different kinds of tetras...do they get along alright or do they fight? I was interested in getting these:

Glowlight Tetras
Cardinal Tetras
Back Neon Tetras
Neon Tetras

Will these be fine together? Are there any kinds of tetras that don't get along well with other tetras?

Yes they should be just fine together I would pick either cardinals or neons, not both, because they look so similar (that's just my personal preference though). I also think that a large tank full of one species of tetra is a site to behold. It really depends on your individual taste though. Good luck with the tank!

Good morning FireTyger. I agree with MissMTS. I also think Cardinal Tetras are a bit more hardy than the Neons and Neons should really go into a tank that has been established for about 3 months. Make sure you acclimate them into the tank properly as well. Other than that I you'll be fine.

Best of luck and hope you can share some photos of your new tank when it's up and running.

I was thinking that about that after I posted... The cardinals are very beautiful with that long red strip going all the way instead of being cut off like it is on the neons. There wouldn't be much point in having both

As amazing as a large school of one kind would be... I don't think I could choose just one They are all so gorgeous. Plus, I am going to have other kinds of fish besides tetras in the tank as well.

Thanks for the info I appreciate any advice I can get.

It will be a bit before I get a tank and set it up yet...still doing my research. Pretty certain about the kinds of fish I want. Now I just have to make sure I know what to get to provide them with an optimal home.
