| Chalceus with a boo boo I had no idea where to put this and after much searching I found something online that referred to a chalceus as being a "predator tetra" so here I am.
I just noticed tonight when I went to feed my fish that my chalceus had a wound on his head. At first I was afraid someone attacked him but it actually looks like he scraped his head on something (probably the top of the tank or the glass covering it - He's a bit of a jumper) The wound looks like a small flap of flesh is hanging on and the scraped part doesn't look too raw or very deep. He's also acting fine if a little more aggressive - when I went to give the tank bloodworms I got seriously splashed and he tried to attack my finger. Should I do anything for him or should I just let it heal on it's own?
I think moving him would be way to stressful. It has taken me almost a year to win this fish's trust - finally I think he finds me useful (food purposes) and somewhat interesting as opposed to the giant who often invades his world! |
